Used in everything from tires to chemical products and cosmetics to ceramics, zinc oxide is more than the white stuff you put on your nose. Horsehead produces thousands of tons of zinc oxide every year by vaporizing molten zinc metal and combusting the vapor in an oxygen rich atmosphere to form zinc oxide. While Horsehead produces over 50 grades of zinc oxide, with varying purities, particle size and post-treatments, we work closely with each customer to develop new specially engineered zinc oxide products to meet specific needs.
